Personal Ethical Standards

My ethical framework

As a student of psychotherapy I am not yet a full member of the NCPS, however these are my basic ground rules:

  • I uphold the welfare of my clients and am commited to doing no harm.
  • I am commited to being trustworthy and responsible, both to my clients and my colleagues and will act in a professional manner.
  • I maintain respect for the autonomy of my clients and volunteers to make their own lawful decisions
  • I respect the diversity of my clients and volunteers and am aware of my own limitations as a student therapist.
  • I will work with integrity in an honest and accurate way, this is also true of my own health and well being which I will also bare in mind when committing to therapeutic work and will only work within my own range of abilities.
